Plot/Synopsis
Geylang was once an area where factories processed coconuts, but now have given way to brothels providing pleasure, with pimps eager to hawk their latest acquisitions to anyone loitering a little while longer.
Written and directed by award-winning Thai director Ekachai Uekrongtham (Beautiful Boxer). It stars Golden Horse Actress winner Yang Kuei-Mei (The wayward Cloud, Vive L'Amour, Eat Drink Man Woman) and Ananda Everingham (Shutter) alongside a cast of fresh talents found through street casting in and aroung Singapore. The cast includes Loo Zihan, Xu Er, Isabella Chen, Jeszlene Devon Zhou, Ian Francis Low and Katashi Chen.
The film was an Official Selection at the Cannes International Film Festival in the Uncertain Regard section. It has been invited to a number of film festivals around the world, include Pusan International Film Festival in Korea and Montreal World Film Festival in Cananda.
