Synopsis:
The most interesting Korean movie you'll see this year, director Shin Dong-il, dubbed "Korea's Woody Allen" brings us an Indie film "Bandhobi" which roughly translates as "female friend" in Bengali, a story about growing pains and the meeting point of different cultures. Rebellious 17 year old teenager Min-seo (Bae Jin-hee) finds a missing wallet but is caught by the owner, migrant worker Karim from Bangladesh. She tries to dissuade him from reporting her to the police by offering to grant him a favor, and reluctantly agrees to help track down his former boss who owes him one year’s pay.

It was a good movie and thanks for sharing it.
I think when Karim translate sweet to whore! the director wanted to show that both side (Karim and the English teacher or let me say Muslims and non-Muslims) have misunderstanding about each others! I mean this movie wants to show that there is no one that 100% right and both sides have wrong ideas about each others.
thank you so much to the uploaders of the movie and the english subtitles.
i knew this movie was "for real" when i saw in the trailer how the korean shopkeeper won't put the change into karim's hand, but put it on the table instead.
Let's be honest; the English in this film is a joke. "Sweet" means "whore"? Seriously? And the "native English speaker" speaks terrible English! They couldn't find a REAL native English speaker in all of Seoul to play a part? Whoever wrote this had a bit of an axe to grind, I think. This was a beautiful film until suddenly the girl thought someone saying Korean girls are "sweet" means he thought they were "whores". I thought Koreans spoke better English than that!
are we sure this is a DVD rip? given that it was only in theatres 2 months ago I would imagine this is actually an IPTV rip. Which would also explain the lack of subs. yesasia doesn't show any DVDs for sale for this movie.
